Contract Carpets Essex

Contract Carpet & Carpet Tiles

Contract carpet is an attractive, hard-wearing flooring solution for many organisations, including healthcare, hospitality and educational establishments. With a shorter pile and a higher stitch count than traditional carpet, the fibres are designed to withstand crushing even in high-footfall areas, ensuring a long life span of durable good looks and high performance.

Contract carpet is available in both broadloom (wall-to-wall style) and tiles (which tend to be cheaper, quicker and easier to lay, with less waste). Options include impervious, bleach-cleanable, stain-resistant and anti-static styles. Contract carpet is surprisingly easy and inexpensive to maintain with a simple regime of vacuuming, spot-cleaning as required, and regular deep cleaning.

Traditional Carpets for Commercial Uses

Traditional Carpet

Traditional carpet is an excellent choice for settings where aesthetics and comfort are key considerations – predominantly homeowners, hotels and care homes. Thicker, with a more cushioning pile and softer fibres than contract carpet, traditional carpet helps to create a luxurious ambience for guests and families alike. (These qualities can also reduce leg fatigue for people who spend much of their time on their feet, such as hospitality and care workers.) While it tends to be less hardwearing than contract carpet, it can still last many years with regular vacuuming, spot-cleaning and maintenance.

Benefits of carpets for busy offices

The Benefits of carpet flooring

With a huge range of colours, designs and styles to choose from, carpet allows you to create a flooring solution that is both practical and aesthetically appealing for your brand. It’s the best type of flooring for noise reduction, and its excellent thermal insulation properties can help to lower energy bills. Plus it’s also suitable for use with underfloor heating systems. From a health and safety perspective, it is inherently slip-resistant, and if someone should fall, creates a softer landing than hard flooring to potentially reduce injury severity.

Lino flooring for commercial use

Linoleum

Popularly known as lino, linoleum is eco-friendly, biodegradable, recyclable and one of the most sustainable flooring solutions on the market. Made from a blend of natural materials, including linseed oil, wood flour, tree resin, jute and powdered cork and limestone, it’s free from volatile organic compounds (VoCs), making it a safe option for people with allergies or chemical sensitivity. It’s also a popular choice in healthcare settings due to its antibacterial properties. Scratch-resistant and with its design embedded throughout the material, lino minimises the appearance of wear and tear, and its water and stain-resistant properties make it particularly suitable for use in kitchens and bathrooms. A low-maintenance product that’s easy to clean with regular sweeping and mopping, it can last from 20 to 40 years, making it a cost-effective alternative to vinyl.

LVT flooring for commercial use

Luxury Vinyl Tiles (LVTs) Flooring

With the appearance of wood, stone or metal and boasting hyper-realistic surface textures, luxury vinyl tiles (LVTs) are modular synthetic flooring systems offering distinct performance benefits over natural materials. This makes them suitable for a wide range of settings, including high-traffic retail, office and leisure, as well as an excellent choice for homeowners in any room, but particularly in kitchens and bathrooms. Their five-layer construction includes backing layers, a waterproof core, a high-resolution photographic layer and protective transparent top coatings, which can be embossed to closely mimic natural products. Available in tile and plank formats, they are supplied as individual pieces – either interlocking, glue down or loose lay – in an extensive range of patterns and colours, from authentic natural designs to bold abstracts.

The Benefits of luxury vinyl tiles

LVTs are hard-wearing and far more resistant to damage such as scratches, scuffs and dents than natural wood or stone flooring – and they create a quieter and more comfortable walking surface, too.
Warm to the touch, they are good insulators and can be installed over underfloor heating systems, with minimal expansion and shrinkage even in hot, humid environments and direct sunlight.
Their water-resistant, stain-repellent construction makes them particularly suitable for locations where spills are likely, such as restaurants, kitchens, bathrooms and healthcare settings.

Safety flooring contractor essex

Safety Vinyl

Safety vinyl flooring is the perfect solution in environments where additional protection against slipping is essential, from hospitals, care homes and labs to canteens, schools, toilets, wet rooms and changing rooms.
As well as its superlative slip-resistance, it’s easy to clean and exceptionally durable, able to withstand high traffic while maintaining its safety-critical functionality and good looks. Options include designs that look like tiles or wood, and antimicrobial layers which inhibit stains, mould and odours, particularly in humid areas like kitchens and laundry rooms.

Rubber flooring contractor essex

Rubber Flooring

Rubber is a heavy-duty, highly durable and resilient flooring option for sites with heavy footfall, such as as schools and retail premises. Most modern rubber floors are synthetic, although some are made from natural rubber (latex) or a mixture of the two. Recycled products are also available. Formats include sheets, rolls, mats and tiles, in a wide range of designs and colours.

Long popular in industrial and fitness settings, due to its ability to withstand heavy impacts, rubber has a safe, non-slip, shock-absorbing surface that minimises the risk of injury from falls and reduces leg fatigue for people constantly on their feet, such as hospitality and healthcare workers. Excellent for both sound and heat insulation, it can be used with underfloor heating. With a simple cleaning routine of brushing and mopping, rubber can maintain its appearance and performance for many years.

Barrier Matting for hotel lobbies

Barrier Matting

Barrier (entrance) matting is fixed in place at entrances to trap up to 95% of dirt, dust, grit and moisture from shoes or wheeled traffic. This helps to keep floors hygienic and dry, reduces cleaning and maintenance costs and minimises the risk of slip injuries. And, of course, a clean entrance creates that all-important good first impression for visitors and staff alike.

Barrier matting comes in several different forms. Heavy-duty exterior and interior primary matting is ideal for high-footfall areas, while secondary barrier matting is used mainly in lower-traffic locations, for safety-critical internal areas such as staircases, or alongside primary matting. Modular hybrid matting can be cut to fit on site and is quick to install – suitable for use either on its own or alongside secondary barrier matting.

SUBFLOOR PREPARATION

We carry out various types of subfloor preparation before installation to ensure a high standard of floor finish. Services include:

  • Application of latex smoothing compound to the substrate to obtain a smooth, resilient and solid finished floor – ideal for use with screeded or concrete floors.
  • Covering floorboards or moisture-resistant chipboard with 6mm plywood to provide a sound, flat working surface.
  • Installation of liquid damp-proof membranes (DPM) to deal quickly and effectively with rising moisture from newly laid screeds.
  • Uplift of existing floor coverings using industrial floor scrapers.
  • Mechanical surface preparation to remove laitance, debris and old adhesive residues, using our own STR machines with industrial vacuum cleaners to trap harmful residues.

I have worked with Sees Flooring for 15 years with 2 main contractors and have found them to be very easy to work with. They produce good quality work and are commercially and contractually a pleasure to deal with.
